Probably this is the first question they ask and your nervousness is at it’s peak at that time.😂

    Try to keep it simple:

    • Start with your name, homeplace, education.(Just a brief)
    • State your skills, qualification, and academia.(Explanatory)
    • Talk about your passion and hobbies.(1-2 liner)

“My name is Vihaan. I am from Uttar Pradesh. I have completed my primary education in ABC school, and pursued my graduation in M.Com from DEF, Delhi. I am a good public speaker and had taken part and won various debate competitions. I like playing cricket, listening to music, and always hustling to learn new skills.”

@Kanib This question seems simple to answer and so many people fail to prepare for it, but it’s crucial. Here’s the trick: Don’t start telling your complete history. Instead, give a pitch—one that’s concise and compelling and that shows exactly why you’re the right fit for the job.

Exactly @Ansh . It’s the first question, and your answer to it can tell a lot about you to the interviewers. So tweak it and make it big!

What’s the best answer for this: “Why Do You Want to Work at This Company?”

Beware of general answers! if your response makes you sound like every other candidate, you’re missing an opportunity to stand out.

Do your research about the companies and point to something that makes the company unique that really appeals to you. Tell them what have you heard about the company in the market and you see growth potential for yourself as well as the organization.

Agree @tejasloke Also, never show off the monetary aspect. What I mean is, never say you are working for the company because you are getting a higher salary. Always, point out the other things like the work environment of the company is good, You see growth while working for the organization….and so on

I often get nervous while answering to this question: “What are your salary expectations?”

My mind says to speak out big numbers, my heart says to stay low, and me actually, delay answering because I am just thinking what to say. Can you guys help me with this?

Hi @Isha Your salary expectations should justify your work experience and the quality of work your bring to the organization. If you are changing your job, you can ask 5%-10% hike from what you were getting in the previous organization.

However, don’t propose a very low salary expectation due to the fear of being rejected. Salary expectations and Negotiations are part of interviews.

Your expected salary should be respective of your experience, the market rate of your job profile, the skills you bring in with you, and the workload you assume you would be having in the organization.

However, salary is always negotiable from both sides. The employer negotiates for a lower salary, while you negotiate for a higher one. What you get finally, depends on your negotiation skills.

@Disha Yes. Research about the salary being paid as per the market rates. And then pick a number which satisfies your financial needs as well as suits the work you will do. For obvious reasons, the salary you ask for is not the final. Recruiters will ask you to settle for a lesser amount bombarding you with reasons to do so, now it’s up to you how good are you at negotiating with them.

How should I answer to “Why do you want to work with our company?”

Roll out your answer with these lead in’s:

            • “I see this opportunity as a way to contribute to an exciting/forward-thinking/fast-moving company/industry, and I feel I can do so by/with my … ”
            • “I feel my skills are particularly well-suited to this position because … ”

One way to tackle this interview question is to intersect what’s in it for the recruiter and what’s in it for you.

The key to this answer is to not forget that second part: talking about yourself. Many people make the mistake of only listing the benefits for the employer. Going into what’s in it for you will help the recruiter understand why you will stay driven throughout your job.

How to answer to ” Tell me something that’s not in your resume?”

      @danish.khan 😂😂Great Question bro!

However, it is tough to answer this question on the spot because you have spent hours in writing the perfect resume, but now, that’s of no use! However, your resume can stretch out to 1-2 pages max. You definitely have a lot to tell.

Try to tell what’s not in your resume. Things like:

      1. Your hobbies and interests.

      2. Share your one strength which is not in your resume.

      3. Explain why you want the job(Excluding any monetary requirements)

      4. Talk something personal. ( Family, What you feel about your work, etc.)

Hi @Isha The community gives you free access to tons of resources. Here’s one of the e-book “Negotiate Like A Pro“. This will immensely help you in improving your negotiation skills.

Question: What do you consider to be your weakness?

              Now here, everyone has weaknesses!
So, “Nothing, I am perfect” is not an option.

Recruiters want to know how self-aware and honest you are. Make sure that you’re telling them something you struggle with, but you are also working to improve. Try to structure your answer like given below👇

“I am not so good at public speaking, but I am trying to overcome this fear by socializing and attending meetings.”
