Hi there
I tried to register in the past, but I think I gave up on the way.
Even in this case, is it enough to create a new handle name and proceed with the feeling of being new?

Hi Jaiant,
Upwork is a great platform for freelancers. Though, It’s tough to get your hands on projects because there are many freelancers with years of experience. What I suggest is, you should create your online portfolio first. Have you worked on any freelance projects in the past?

When I first tried to register for Upwork, the process looked way lengthy to me. I tried 2 times but eventually I didn’t get registered. Then I read some blog posts, searched some videos on how to register successfully on Upwork.

I was able to register the 3rd time. Upwork has a lengthy as well as strict registration process to filter out the best of freelancers. Take it positively and keep trying!

Yes, Indeed.
Doesn’t matter which industry or career you are pursuing. Your portfolio tells a lot about your past work experiences, past projects, your skills etc. So building a portfolio is always valuable.

Hi Jaiant, if you’re a consultant – still you are required to create a portfolio to show your expertise in that field.

According to Upwork insights, the platform gets 10,000 signups every day. But what happens is that the Upwork marketplace gets flooded with freelancers. And many of these freelancers either don’t have any relevant skills or aren’t serious about freelancing.
Upwork can’t manually approve or deny 10,000 applicants every day, so they created an algorithm to do the screening process for them.
Here are few tips to get your profile approved:
1. Use a business e-mail id when you sign up.
2. Pick as many subcategories as possible.
3. Fill out the Overview section or about me page with relevant details.
4. Come up with a catchy title for your profile. Your title should summarize your work.
5. Select a professional or begineer tag.
The last I would say is, don’t follow up with too many articles on how to get approved by Upwork. Just fill the form, be real, and write in your best. Hope the algorithm be with you!😝

The problem is that the phone number is still the same one.
I am wondering Upwork realize it even if I go ahead with the procedure without mentioning the same phone number against Upwork.
What is your advice whether I inform this matter directly for Upwork or I go ahead with the procedure without informing it for Upwork

Hi, @jiant Upwork doesn’t allow you to have different ids with the same number. I think either you should try registering with a different number or contact Upwork support for this matter to avoid any future obligations.

Thank you for your post.
As a matter of fact, I have been using the platform called Language Exchange as below.
Their cons are below(from my kind of view)
・Advanced search
・Create community
・Create event
・Direct mail
Although I had used italki for several times,I am not sure whether italki has the above features like Language Exchange.
Neither Speaky has the above feature.
Would be fine it is convenient for me to use a platform that has more useful features than if I can use the platform Language Exchange.
