How To Unleash Your Creativity And Generate Million Dollar Ideas

Identify your problems (12:41)

  • Problem-solving is the process of monitoring what’s going on in your environment;
  • Identifying items that could be modified or improved;
  • Determining why the current state is the way it is and the causes and factors that affect it;
  • Developing methods and alternatives to influence change; making decisions on the options to choose; taking action to enforce the changes;
  • Observing the environmental impact of these actions.

Observational learning is crucial to form new ideas (17:37)

To execute your ideas successfully, you need to observe and study the subject you are working on. Creative ideas are not formed just by sitting idle. Observation learning is crucial because:

  • Observation facilitates an in-depth and rich understanding of the phenomenon, situation and/or environment and actions of the participants in that setting;
  • It is an important part of the understanding of naturalistic settings and the ways of seeing of its members;
  • It can provide the basis for the development of theory and hypothesis.

Why Uber describes itself as 'Amazon for transportation'? (18:18)

The concept of Uber isn’t really unique. They have taken inspiration from e-commerce giant Amazon as both of them have a buyer and seller and work digitally.

  • Amazon sells books, toilet paper, toys — almost everything, really — and provides cloud computing services and makes smart speakers artificially;
  • Uber, on the other hand, lets people hail through a mobile app. But just as Amazon started as a small online bookshop before becoming a digital retailer, Uber wants people to believe that its ride-sharing business is the basis for a more comprehensive “hub” covering multiple transport industries.

Enhance your creativity (19:11)

  • Creativity is not always an attribute that you are born with; it is a quality that can be improved by habit;
  • Through enough practise and patience, you will rewire your brain to make the most of your innate capacity to produce original ideas. The best way to develop the creative mind is through practice and knowledge;
  • Choose your favourite artistic hobbies and do them on a regular basis — daily, if you can. The more you flex your imaginative power, the more likely your mind can innovate.

Rejection is the first step to success (21:53)

  • It is often observed that the most successful entrepreneurs refuse to be discouraged by rejection;
  • The tale of Airbnb, the home rental service now valued at a colossal $25.5 billion, provides yet another reminder of why that attribute is so important;
  • In 2008, the year Airbnb was formed, the company was aiming to raise $150,000 to a value of $1.5 million. The business approached seven big venture capital firms, hat in hand, only to get a round of refusals;
  • Rejections did not deter the creators. They kept up with it, found other investors, and went on to create one of the most successful companies in the world;
  • So, don’t give it up. Even the largest and strongest operations faced rejection early on.

Keep pivoting until you make your idea a success (25:11)

  • Launching and operating a start-up or a new company is full of risks. But when it comes to planning for success, just remember: the more you practise, the less likely you’ll fail;
  • Making decisions without consideration is a recipe for failure, so take the time to plan before you decide to move the business in a new direction. So, keep pivoting before you make your idea a success.

Bring a change in your life by following these small steps (28:00)

  • Identify the problems;
  • Try to find already applied and proven solutions to similar problems;
  • Change your attitude and mindset.

Believe that you can definitely do anything you set your mind to (29:19)

  • Absolutely, you can undoubtedly do whatever you set your mind to do; it takes effort, it takes tenacity, it takes overcoming your fears, and  most likely to get out of your comfort zone;
  • Unfortunately, most people are ensnared in a life of mediocrity because they do not make an attempt to pursue what their heart yearns;
  • They live their entire lives afraid to move out of their comfort zone and dread of taking their own life to a new level, not exploring the potential they have and what they are capable of;
  • Believe in yourself; if you don’t believe in yourself, you won’t be able to do what you’re thinking of.

Wrapping it up

Creative ideas are all around us, all the time. Uncovering them is often a matter of how we’re looking at things and less of where we’re looking.And yet when we’re feeling uncreative or stuck it’s often helpful to get away from the work: to get up and go for a walk, or do a chore, or otherwise change scenery.

Creativity is a wild eye and a disciplined mind.
