Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Interview Rounds

The first round of the TCS hiring process involves TCS NQT (National Qualifier Test), which is considered to be one of the toughest stages of the procedure. It is an Ability Test that evaluates a candidate’s abilities and skills. TCS NQT Exams are offered both online (at home), and in-person at TCS iON Authorised Exam Centers.

The test has five sections:

Numerical Ability – 20-30 Questions

Verbal – 20-25 questions

Reasoning Ability – 25-35 Questions

Programming Logic – 5-15 Questions

Coding – 1-2 Questions

The candidates will be assessed for the following topics:

  • Numerical ability: Number Systems, Arithmetic, Elementary Statistics, and Data Interpretation are all assessed in this part.
  • Verbal Ability: This section assesses English grammar, how to use it correctly, and reading comprehension.
  • Reasoning ability: Identifying words and mathematical patterns, problem-solving, figurative and factual analysis, decision-making, propositional reasoning, and visual-spatial reasoning are all assessed in this section.

The focus of this entire round will be on your technical knowledge, primary projects, and biography.

This will be a face-to-face interview in which you will be asked questions about data structures and algorithms, operating systems, database management systems, networking, object-oriented programming concepts, and a programming language of your choice. There’s a good chance you’ll be asked to write some code on paper.

A panel of senior members oversees the management round. This round could be solely technical questions or a mix of technical and managerial topics.

The majority of the questions are tailored to the job description you are being interviewed for. You should be aware of any new technology or software that may be necessary for that position. In order to measure your thinking style, you may be asked questions based on your behaviours. You may be put under pressure to see how you react.

Your achievements on your CV may be called into question, and you may be required to defend them. You may also be questioned about your previous job experiences, goals, and motives for joining TCS, among other things.

In this round, the panel will evaluate your corporate culture fit, attitude, soft skills, intended career growth, and other things.

During the interview, you may be asked general questions about your work experience, college degree, expertise, willingness to relocate, and other factors.

In any case, no matter how the interview goes, always be courteous. The interview panel intends to push you out of your comfort zone. Maintain your cool and react to the questions you’ve seen before. If you don’t know the answer, don’t give up; instead, attempt it with what you know.

In addition to the normal HR questions related to strengths and weaknesses, why you should be hired, reasons behind choosing TCS, and so on, expect questions about work experience, education, interests, and family background.

They can also ask about TCS, such as when it was founded, its goals, values, organization structures, and so on.
