In the short term, many people feel overwhelmed and not able to do their daily tasks and activities. In the long term, ongoing serious stress can also contribute to physical health problems- sometimes people develop cardiovascular problems, digestive troubles, ongoing anxiety or depression. When this happens, it definitely means someone should try and get professional help!

Agree with you. If one is going through too much stress, he/she should seek professional help. Alas! There’s a stigma surrounding psychiatrist and mental issues.

According to an estimate by the World Health Organization (WHO), mental illness makes about 15% of the total disease conditions around the world. The same estimate also suggests that India has one of the largest populations affected by mental illness.
As a result, WHO has labelled India as the world’s ‘most depressing country’. Moreover, between 1990 to 2017, one in seven people from India have suffered from mental illness ranging from depression, anxiety to severe conditions such as schizophrenia, according to a study.
It is no exaggeration to suggest that the country is under a mental health epidemic. But people will still make it a taboo topic to talk about.

Not just stigma but also shaming the people who are suffering from mental disorders. There’s zero empathy in people for those who are struggling daily to live like a normal person. It’s a shame. ????

Chronic stress can elevate mental health problems, such as depression, anxiety, and personality disorders.

Depression and social anxiety. Panic attack also. You’ll not be able to balance your professional and personal life.

Also skin and hair problems, such as acne, psoriasis, and eczema, and permanent hair loss can also happen because of chronic stress.
