As a freelancer your online portfolio represents you in front of your clients. Some basic things you should add in it are:
1. Your personal information(Your name, photo, DOB, contact details)
2. Your skills
3. Your experience and previous works(This section should match with your skills to make it look genuine. Share your previous projects, if your projects details are not shareable in public. You can write down a brief history of what you worked upon)
4. Your blog or website ink.(This is an important part as the client will see your working skillset and your online presence through your website)
5. Build your portfolio in a creative manner. Try to add designs to make it look attractive.
And your portfolio is ready!!

Since you are new to the industry and don’t have any in hand experience. Once you have finished with 1-2 projects of clients. You can definitely raise your price bar as per the market rates. @Tripod.Guy

Also, what sits well with their brand? What’s the message and image they want to convey?

Square is a company that allows merchants to accept mobile credit card payments via a dongle.
The best part of their startup pitch is that it’s detailed pitch deck outlines Square’s business model and a simple financial model that portrays their annual revenue and five-year growth rate.
Simple! Easy! Attractive!

Experience matters at any point of your career. As a newbie, focus on at least getting small projects. After a while, things will be a lot easier for you.
Don’t forget to add these projects in your portfolio. Small things matter the most!
